Monarch Tagging and Live Butterfly Release

You can tag and release a Monarch Butterfly.

September 8 12:30-2:30

Learn how Monarchs are tagged, registered, and released to study and protect their migration routes.  You can tag a butterfly; receive a certificate with the codes and information on Monarch Watch.  This hands on presentation is a great opportunity for all ages to learn about Monarchs, their habitat, lifecycle and migration.

The seminar is FREE, $8.00 to tag and release a Monarch. registration fee includes a donation to help protect and preserve Monarchs and their habitat.

We have a limited number of butterflies and tags available on a first come first serve basis.

Tagging starts at 12:30 and will continue after presentation if needed.

Presentation 1:00-1:45

After the presentation we will finish tagging the monarchs then release them all together.

This hands on presentation is fun for all ages.  We recommend that an adult help small children (under 4) with tagging.
