If you would like to start feeding birds or have tried with limited success this is seminar for you.
* Choosing your feeders & seed to attract song birds.
* Identifying the birds you see at your feeder.
* Creating a landscape that is for the birds.
* More fun ways to learn & get involved in birding.
* A bit about hawks & other raptors in our area.

Rick Hollis started watching and learning about birds as a child and loves sharing his passion with others. Rick was the past president of the Iowa City Bird Club and served on the board of the Iowa Ornithologists Union.

Monarch Tagging and Live Butterfly Release

You can tag and release a Monarch Butterfly.

September 8 12:30-2:30

Learn how Monarchs are tagged, registered, and released to study and protect their migration routes. You can tag a butterfly; receive a certificate with the codes and information on Monarch Watch. This hands on presentation is a great opportunity for all ages to learn about Monarchs, their habitat, lifecycle and migration.

The seminar is FREE, $8.00 to tag and release a Monarch. registration fee includes a donation to help protect and preserve Monarchs and their habitat.

We have a limited number of butterflies and tags available on a first come first serve basis.

Tagging starts at 12:30 and will continue after presentation if needed.

After the presentation we will finish tagging the monarchs then release them all together.

This hands on presentation is fun for all ages. We recommend that an adult help small children (under 4) with tagging.

We’ll provide the supplies, decorations and instructions. You have fun putting your personal touch on it. Choose either a 20″ wreath or 12″ container.

Register as a group or individually by calling Forever Green Garden Center 319-626-2774 Cost for this evening is $45.00. Payment is due on registration.

Call Forever Green today space is limited.
$5.00 of each registration will go to DVIP for supplies for those in need.

Fun for a great cause.

Helping local kids get what they need succeed in school.

Saturday August 24^th 10:00-4:00

Free admission, lots of free games & activities including Coralville police & Fire, a visit from UI Air Care helicopter, face painting & more. The Fun Fair is a free community event put on to have fun and raise money to support local kids. Join your neighbors, local businesses, non profits, schools, as we make a difference in the lives of local kids in need.

This year the funds raised are being distributed to these local organizations to help provide supplies and services to local families. Join our community working together to make sure our kids have what they need to succeed in school, from school supplies to haircuts, socks & underwear, to family support services you can help make a difference.

Back to School Bash organized by the Unity Coalition to provide school supplies, shoes, socks & underwear as well as haircuts for North Liberty youth.
Dream Center working to strengthen families through support, advocacy, education and community connections.
Student Family Advocates in local schools to provide personal items and school supplies to those in need.

Fun Fair Fundraiser for ToGather Together

Forever Green’s Fun Fair with FREE admission, activities and games is a day of fun and raises money to provide school supplies to local kids. There’s a carnival atmosphere with music, food, raffles, games and activities including the Iowa Children’s Museum, local fire and police departments, the University of and Air Care’s Helicopter.

Enjoy lunch on the grounds and music provided by local talent.

Last year over 1700 people attended the Fun Fair raising $6,700.00 for ToGather Together.

ToGather Together raises money to provide funds for school supplies to children in need in Johnson County. Run by volunteers they work directly with the schools to meet the needs of local kids so that they can have the resources they need to succeed.

What could be better than good food and a glass of wine surrounded by the beauty of a greenhouse in full bloom? Forever Green is hosting our first ladies night out with a container gardening night. This is a chance to get together to enjoy good food, wine and flowers. Come enjoy hors d’ oeuvres and a glass of wine from a local winery while you plant a beautiful container garden. Cost for the evening $25.00 includes, plants and supplies to create your own container garden plus food and beverages.
